The video was online for more than 24 hours before X users were told to remove it on June 19.
The video was created by superimposing Mr Elordi's face onto the body of another man.
An OnlyFans creator using the handle @mentallyillgus says one of his videos was used to create the deepfake and that he was only 17 years old at the time the video was taken, NBC News has reported.
The video was viewed more than 3 million times.
Celebrities, social media influencers and young women are increasingly becoming targets of non-consensual deepfakes depicting them in sexual situations.
In July, deepfakes of underage female students at a Victorian school were shared on social media.
A male student was arrested as a result but later released.
Mr Elordi is yet to comment on the deepfake.
