Captain's Call
DESPITE the restrictions imposed upon us it is pleasing to note the willing cooperation of players who are making the most of the opportunity to escape the rigours of isolation and enjoy the challenge of the golf course.
A big thank you to the green staff for their continued efforts in returning the course towards its pristine best.
The grass coverage on the mounds so far is amazing and in a year or so will be an integral attraction to those holes.
Some years ago, when the 21st hole was declared a practice area, the decision was taken to restrict chipping/pitching to a distance of 10 metres.
As this green is a social hole as well as a course nursery it is necessary to limit heavy plug marks that result from longer shots. Golfers are respectfully asked to adhere to this request.
Golfers should note that balls in the pro shop ledger have a limited life of six months so they should be collected prior to this period of time elapsing.
The website clearly indicates the date when each ball will be deleted if not collected.
Those golfers without access to the website should check with the pro shop to ascertain their individual position in this regard.
